The mercenaries of the Interim Government continue to block the entry of journalists and international and humanitarian organizations into Sheikh Maqsoud, while reliable reports indicate that massacres against residents are taking place.

Since January 11, the groups have enforced a siege on the neighborhood, which is inhabited by thousands of families, cutting off all forms of humanitarian aid and media coverage.

Meanwhile, media outlets affiliated with the Interim Government’s mercenaries periodically promote a narrative of a “return to normal life” in the neighborhood by broadcasting short video clips from its outskirts. Local sources, however, confirm that the reality is entirely different, with systematic crimes and violations being committed against civilians inside Sheikh Maqsoud.

The abduction of 272 civilians from Sheikh Maqsoud in Aleppo has been documented by name.

Activists have also circulated images of civilians who were kidnapped and then slaughtered by the Interim Government’s mercenaries.

On January 6, mercenaries of the Interim Government affiliated with the Turkish occupying state, along with remnants of ISIS mercenaries, launched a direct attack on the Sheikh Maqsoud, Ashrafiyah, and Bani Zaid neighborhoods in Aleppo, committing crimes against the residents. Members of the Internal Security Forces – Aleppo mounted fierce resistance to these attacks.

The mercenary assaults focused on infrastructure, services, and health facilities. They besieged Martyr Khaled Fajr Hospital in Sheikh Maqsoud for several days and shelled it with tanks and artillery. To prevent massacres and to evacuate the wounded, civilians, women, and children from the hospital to safe areas, the General Council of the neighborhoods announced a partial truce on January 11. The Internal Security Forces – Aleppo handled this truce with great sensitivity, enabling the successful evacuation of Khaled Fajr Hospital.
