Mercenaries fall into ambush by Internal Security Forces

The Internal Security Forces in Aleppo thwarted an attempt by mercenaries to storm the Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood from the directions of Sheihan Roundabout and Castello Hill. The mercenaries fell into a well-planned ambush that resulted in deaths and injuries among their ranks and the complete destruction of a military vehicle.

According to information provided by ANHA correspondents in the area, mercenary groups launched an attack at exactly 10:00 a.m. from Sheihan Roundabout using five armored vehicles and military trucks equipped with DShK heavy machine guns, targeting the Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh neighborhoods in an attempt to break in.

The Internal Security Forces in Aleppo responded to the attack and set a tight ambush, destroying a DShK-equipped vehicle entirely. The clash led to several mercenaries being killed and wounded, though no precise figures are available at this time.

The Castillo Hill

The correspondents reported that, at the same time, the mercenaries launched another attack from the direction of Castello Hill. Internal Security Forces repelled the assault, causing the attempt to fail. The attackers fled the area, leaving their dead behind.

Several mercenaries were also killed near the Greek Hospital in the Ashrafieh neighborhood, where their bodies were left at the scene.

ANHA correspondents also reported intensified clashes in the areas of Castello and Sheihan Roundabout, as Internal Security Forces continue to repel the attacks amid ongoing artillery shelling targeting civilians in both neighborhoods.
