The Commander-in-Chief of the Syrian Democratic Forces, Mazloum Abdi, called for an immediate halt to attacks targeting civilians in As-Suwayda Governorate, demanding safe corridors for displaced persons. He emphasized that the killing of women and children and attacks on religious symbols constitute "a crime against humanity and Syrian values."

In a post on the X platform, Abdi said that numerous appeals had been received from the people of As-Suwayda demanding their protection and an end to the ongoing violations. He added, "The killing of women and children and the assault on religious symbols is a crime against humanity and the values of Syrians. These aggressive acts must be stopped immediately and those responsible must be held accountable."

He emphasized that what Syria is experiencing after more than 14 years of war requires moving beyond the logic of revenge and retaliation and resorting to dialogue and reason, saying, "It is time to stop the bloodshed. Syria will not rise through revenge, but through dialogue and reason."

The SDF Commander-in-Chief concluded his post by emphasizing that the issue of the people of As-Suwayda is a "national issue," and that its solution must be through a constitutional process and through dialogue.
