Today, NE Syria are witnessing major rallies demanding the physical freedom of leader Abdullah Ocalan, and denouncing the international conspiracy that targeted him on February 15, 1999.

Today marks the 25th anniversary of the international conspiracy against the leader Abdullah Ocalan, which began on October 9, 1998, and led to his kidnapping from the Kenyan capital, Nairobi, on February 15, 1999.

Massive rallies have now been launched in the city of Derik, Qamishlo, and Hasaka, al-Jazera canton, and  Euphrates canton, and  Raqqa canton in addition to the Ashrafieh and Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhoods in Aleppo, and Afrin and Al-Shahba.

In the city of Derik, the rally started from Azadi Square, with the participation of the people of the city, Girke Laki, Tal Kocher, Gîl Agha, Gujarat.  It is scheduled to stop in front of the Syrian Revolutionary Youth Center in the city.

In the city of Qamishlo, the people of the city and the districts of Tirbespiye Amuda, and Tal Hamis are participating in the rally that started from the Osman Sabri roundabout, and it is scheduled to stop in front of the March 12 Martyrs Stadium in the city.

The people of the city and the districts of Al-Darbasiyah, Tal Tamr, Tal Barak, Al-Hawl, and Al-Shaddadi joined the rally, which started from the martyr Arin Mirkan roundabout in the city of Hasaka, and it will stop at the Al-Sabagh roundabout.

The people of the Euphrates Canton also went out in a central rally, starting from the city of Kobani, with the participation of the people of the districts and towns of the district. It started from the Martyr Arin Mirkan roundabout, and is scheduled to stop at the end of 48th Street.

In Afrin and Al-Shahba canton, the rally began from the Favin district of Al-Shahba, in which the people of Al-Shahba and those forcibly displaced from occupied Afrin who are in camps within Al-Shahba participated.

The rally of the people of the Sheikh Maqsoud and Achrafieh neighborhoods began in front of the March 8 Hall, and will stop at the Zaytoun Roundabout within the Achrafieh neighborhood.

In Raqqa, the rally started from the Women’s Roundabout in the city of Raqqa, where the people of Raqqa, the people of Deir ez-Zor District, the Manbij, the Tabqa district, and the youth, whose rally started from the city of Tabqa and arrived in Raqqa this morning are participating, and it is scheduled to stop at the Al-Naim Roundabout.

In addition to the people of all components; Arabs, Kurds, Syriacs, Turkmen, Circassians, and Armenians,” who participated in the rallies, include representatives of the Democratic Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, officials of political parties, civil society institutions in the region, and tribal notables and sheikhs.

Participants in the rallies led by women raised pictures of the leader Abdullah Ocalan, and banners reading, “We denounce the February 15 plot,” “February 15 is the day of the genocide of peoples,” “Freedom for the leader Abdullah Ocalan,” and “International silence is a shame.” “The physical freedom of Leader Abdullah Ocalan, the political solution to the Kurdish issue."
