Mass march in Qamishlo against international conspiracy on its 26th anniversary

Thousands participated in the mass march organized in Qamishlo to denounce the international conspiracy orchestrated against Abdullah Ocalan on October 9, 1998.

This morning, thousands of residents from Tal Koçer, Dêrik, Girkê Legê, Rumelan, Çil Agha, Tirbespî, and Tal Hamis, from the Kurdish, Arab, and Syriac communities, gathered in Qamishlo to participate in the mass march.

They chanted slogans against the countries involved in the conspiracy and demanded Abdullah Ocalan's freedom. They carried banners that read, "Freedom for leader Abdullah Ocalan, a political solution for the Kurdish issue."

The march began from Osman Sabri Square and moved through the main street of the city, with chants like "No life without the leader, with soul and blood, we sacrifice for you, Ocalan," "Long live the Imrali resistance," and "Freedom for the global leader."

Upon reaching Martyr Robar Square near the Muhammad Sheikho Center for Culture and Art, the protesters observed a moment of silence in honor of the martyrs of freedom.

Aldar Khalil, member of the Presidential Body of the Democratic Union Party (PYD), said: "Your participation in the march is blessed and valuable on this day, marking 26 years since the treachery of the conspiracy nations, now entering its 27th year. Through the conspiracy, they targeted the existence of our people and our leader. We condemn all the conspirators involved."

He added, "There is a historic resistance in Imrali against the conspirators. To counter this conspiracy, there is a struggle across all fields in Kurdistan and beyond, which represents a heroic historical resistance."

He emphasized that "the goals of the conspiracy have failed, thanks to the resistance shown by leader Abdullah Ocalan, but they are still targeting our people by cutting off the connection between them and the leader through imposing a system of torture and annihilation upon him."

Shiraz Hamo, member of the K. Star Coordination, said: "On this day, October 9, 1998, we witnessed the first outcomes of the Greater Middle East Project proposed by the hegemonic powers to establish a presence in the region under the pretense of empowering women, solidifying freedom, and democracy. What democracy are they talking about, what freedom are they calling for, and what empowerment of women are they claiming?"

She continued: "A democracy that has destroyed justice and equality, and a freedom that has silenced voices and led to arrests simply for speaking the truth, whether man or woman, about freedom and democracy. What freedom are they talking about? What empowerment of women are they claiming, while we witness the policy of annihilation against women in all forms of violence? These conspirators always wish for women to live in slavery. But these conspiratorial forces that carried out the international conspiracy against leader Abdullah Ocalan, thinking they could thereby destroy the will of societies and, first and foremost, the will of women—let us say again, they will never achieve their goals. The will of the society that embraced leader Ocalan’s paradigm will not be easily broken.”
