The martyrs' shrine of Manbij and its countryside was subjected to a fourth act of vandalism and theft since the city was occupied by the Turkish occupation army and its mercenaries on December 8, 2024. This is a flagrant violation of the sanctity of the site, which commemorates the sacrifices of Manbij people in confronting ISIS mercenaries.

The recent attacks targeted the shrine's floors and outer wall, and the main door and iron fences were stolen in a systematic repetition of previous attacks targeting the symbolism of the martyrs and their place in the people's consciousness.

Three previous attacks on the shrine were recorded, beginning on April 1, when pictures of the martyrs were smashed and marble stones were stolen from the tombs. The shrine was then vandalized again on June 5, with additional marble pieces stolen. The attack was repeated on September 12, when more contents were stolen from the shrine.
