Mahmoud Khalil: Second group of displaced Afrin residents return home tomorrow

Siamand Afrin, a leader in the Internal Security Forces in Hasaka Governorate, announced that the second group of displaced people from the Afrin region will return to their homes in the city of Rajo and the city center of Afrin tomorrow. The convoy includes approximately 200 families.

Mahmoud Khalil, the leader of the Internal Security Forces in Hasaka Governorate, issued a statement on his “X” account, announcing the place and time of departure of the second batch of displaced people from Afrin to their homes. The statement read:

"In fulfillment of our humanitarian responsibility and national duty towards our people, and as a continuation of the efforts to organize the return of displaced families, the second group of our displaced people will depart for the Afrin region.

This step comes in accordance with previously agreed-upon understandings and arrangements, and following the positive assessment of the arrival of the first group, which reached its destination safely.

The second convoy is scheduled to begin its journey at 6:00 AM tomorrow, with the assembly and departure point designated as the 'Martyr Yusuf Gulo Roundabout' in Qamishlo. The convoy, consisting of 200 families, will then travel along the M4 international highway towards the Afrin region.

While we reaffirm our commitment to ensuring a safe and organized return for all our people, we urge those registered in this group to adhere to the specified time and place to guarantee the smooth progress of the process according to the established schedule. We wish them a safe journey and a safe arrival
