Loud explosions heard at air defense battalion between Jableh, Baniyas

Loud explosions were heard at an air defense battalion located between the coastal Syrian cities of Jableh and Baniyas, resulting in plumes of smoke rising in the area.

According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, powerful explosions echoed today from the battalion situated between Jableh and Baniyas, leading to thick columns of smoke and flying shrapnel in the surrounding area.

The sound of the explosions was heard several kilometers away, amid a state of alert in nearby regions.

So far, there has been no confirmed information regarding the nature of the explosions, whether they were caused by an internal incident within the battalion or by an external aerial strike.

This development comes less than 24 hours after a massive explosion was heard in Damascus, followed by thick smoke rising from the western side of the city, particularly around the Mazzeh neighborhood. At the time, local media reported that the explosion was the result of “pre-scheduled military drills,” but the sensitive timing, amid escalating regional tensions, has raised widespread questions about the true nature of the event.
