The Syrian Initiative for the Freedom of Leader Abdullah Ocalan in Tabqa canton issued a statement, read before the Future Syria Party Council by Hussein al-Dughaim, the spokesperson for the Syrian Initiative of the Leader Abdullah Ocalan's Freedom in Tabqa canton, in the presence of members of the Initiative from the cities and towns of Tabqa canton. The statement included,

"The right to hope is one of the most fundamental human rights, stemming from the right to life. It is enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, public international law, the Charter of the United Nations, international human rights agreements, and the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court. This right must be respected by every prisoner without discrimination; otherwise, it constitutes an international crime, as this right is not subject to manipulation or compromise."

The statement further indicated that "the continued imprisonment of the leader Abdullah Ocalan constitutes an international crime, specifically a crime against humanity."

The statement explained that the leader Abdullah Ocalan began his political and intellectual project with an enlightened strategic vision, and offered unconventional solutions to various local, regional and global issues. One of his most prominent intellectual works was the book "Manifesto of Peace and Democratic Society," in which he addressed a broader struggle than just fighting, encompassing the fundamental challenges facing the Middle East and the world as a whole.

The statement clarified that this book is not limited to political analysis, but rather represents a comprehensive philosophical call aimed at presenting a new vision for rebuilding society on the principles of democracy and just peace.

The statement also addressed the thought and philosophy of leader Abdullah Ocalan regarding democratic modernity, which transcends traditional dichotomies such as capitalism and socialism, or the nation-state and anarchism, leading to a democratic system based on decentralization, cultural diversity, and social justice.

The statement added that if we were to delve into the depths of history in search of the roots of the first conspiracies, we would see that the mythology created by the Sumerian priests is among the greatest conspiracies perpetrated against humanity, but it does not compare to the conspiracy carried out on February 15th against the leader Abdullah Ocalan, a conspiracy hatched by most of the world's major powers.

The statement affirmed that the leader Abdullah Ocalan transformed his prison cell into a source of knowledge, thought, and learning, and a space for free expression. Most of his writings advocate for building a moral, political, and democratic society, and a world founded on new principles of social justice, co-existence, freedom, equality, and peace.

The Initiative concluded its statement by calling upon international, civil, human rights, and community organizations to elevate the case of leader Abdullah Ocalan to a humanitarian and human rights issue on the international stage, and to put pressure on the Turkish state to ensure his physical freedom.
