"Leader was able to analyze reality and predict future changes”

The national figure, Yunus Haj Silo, is a resident of the village of Deir Qalanka in the Tirbespiyê district of Jazira canton. He has believed in the thought of leader Abdullah Ocalan since the 1980s, and met the leader three times, in 1991 in Lebanon, and in 1994 and 1997 in Damascus, and he said about his ideas: “This thought is different from the rest of the Kurdish parties and movements, and carry an intellectual and democratic ideology for the Kurdish people and other peoples.”

Yunus Haj Silo explained that they got to know some of the leading and vanguard figures in the party, such as the martyr Mustafa Gilo, the martyr Nazir, and the martyr Khabat, and he said: “We found that this party is capable of realizing the aspirations and hopes of the Kurdish people in gaining their freedom and legitimate rights, and after meeting with the leader Abdullah Ocalan and getting to know his thought and his person closely, this thought has become a creed for us.”

Despite all the harassment that people who believed in this thought were subjected to, whether by the Baathist regime prior to the July 19th Revolution, or the Turkish occupation state, they still adhere to it to this day and are ready to provide everything necessary to achieve the physical freedom of leader Abdullah Ocalan and their absolute support for the People's Defense Forces (Guerilla).

40 years and the war against the Guerrilla has not stopped

The national figure, Yunus Haj Silo, said: “Since the spread of the thought of Leader Abdullah Ocalan in the 1980s, a special war began against this thought and attempts were made to distort the image of the leader and the Guerrilla forces, and the attacks of the Turkish occupation army never stopped, and all of these attacks failed, because those who recognized him... Leader Abdullah Ocalan thought closely and realized that he is a genius person.”

Silo noted that leader Abdullah Ocalan was able to analyze reality and predict future changes, and said: “These ideas were met with disapproval by the Kurdish, communist and capitalist parties, but they later became a reality.”

Silo stressed that the Kurdistan Democratic Party’s cooperation with the Turkish occupation army is an extension of that primitive stage and continues to this day. He said: “We feel sorry for seeing this reception of someone like Erdogan who kills the Kurdish people on a daily basis and cooperating with him against the Guerrilla forces.”

 Haj Silo said: “Just as the Guerrilla forces have been victorious for more than 40 years, we are confident that they will prevail and we express our support for these forces no matter the cost.”
