Lawyer Razia Ozturk, and lawyers Ibrahim Bilmez, Imran Emekji, and Cengiz Yurkli from the Asr Human Rights Office submitted a request to the Republican Public Prosecutor’s Office in the Turkish city of Bursa and the Imrali Prison Directorate in order to meet with Leader Abdullah Ocalan.

Leader Ocalan was arrested following an international conspiracy upon his departure from Syria, heading to Moscow. It was carried out on February 15, 1999 in the Kenyan capital, Nairobi, and he was handed over to the Turkish authorities.

Leader Abdullah Ocalan's last contact with the outside world was on March 25, 2021, during a phone call with his brother Muhammad Ocalan, which lasted less than 5 minutes, then the call was cut off.

Lawyers and detainees' families submit four requests to meet with them every week, but all requests are rejected.
