Leader Ocalan's freedom will lead to peace in the Middle East

On October 10, 2023, global grassroots events and events demanding the physical freedom of leader Abdullah Ocalan were launched in more than 100 cities around the world under the slogan "Freedom for Abdullah Ocalan, Political Solution to the Kurdish Issue".

The institutional movement has escalated in dozens of international, regional and Arab countries for the physical freedom of leader Abdullah Ocalan, in response to the Turkish authorities' tightening of the isolation imposed in Imrali, cutting off information about him since 25 March 2021, and preventing his lawyer and his relatives from meeting with him

In this context, the former President of the Egyptian Court and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the House of Justice for International Arbitration and the Law, Amnesty International member Alaa Salama, considered: "The global event launched for leader Ocalan is more influential at the political level, as evidenced by the joining of many centers around the world, one of the most important means of lobbying for the release of Ocalan."

As to the impact of these events, Alaa Salama considers that the resolution of the Kurdish issue is largely linked to Ocalan's physical freedom, noting that: "These events are very influential and will yield good results."

Salama stressed that this event will further pressure the States concerned, as well as lead to greater results, and will lead to the release of leader Abdullah Ocalan, who will lead to peace in the Middle East region.
