On Monday, a delegation from the Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party (DEM), consisting of Pervin Buldan, Mithat Sancar, and Faik Özgür, traveled to Imrali Prison to meet with Leader Abdullah Ocalan. The meeting lasted for about three hours, and today the delegation issued a statement to the public.

The statement issued by the Imrali delegation of the DEM Party, which met with Leader Ocalan, read as follows:

"On 3 November 2025, we held a very positive meeting with Mr. Abdullah Ocalan in Imrali that lasted around three hours. His health and morale were very strong. He provided the following assessments in brief during our meeting:

To advance the political process, it is necessary to evaluate history and sociology with greater seriousness. It is important to emphasize that the Turkish–Kurdish relationship has come this far as two intertwined pillars over a thousand years. This bond should be strengthened by considering, understanding, and restoring these two pillars.

We must not move by drawing boundaries and divisions, but by shaping a new horizon that includes our current issues as well.

Under limited circumstances, we are making a serious effort for a historic cause. We are not seeking a destructive or negative phase; rather, we are striving to develop a positive one. The Kurdish question in all its dimensions must be incorporated within the legitimacy of the Republic. To achieve this, a strong transitional phase must be the foundation. Transitioning toward legitimacy as a comprehensive phenomenon will establish the legal foundations of a democratic republic.

The opportunity for democratic integration that we stand on the threshold of today represents both a local and a global dimension. Handling the current phase with sensitivity, seriousness, and a sense of responsibility is vital to achieving the desired positive transition.

With highest respect."
