Lawyers of detainees apply to visit Imrali Prison
Lawyers of Leader Abdullah Ocalan and the other Imrali detainees submitted a new request to the Turkish authorities to meet with them.
Today, the lawyers of the Al-Asr Law Office: Razia Ozturk, Ibrahim Bilmez, Imran Emekji, and Cengiz Yurkli submitted a new request to the Republican Prosecutor’s Office in the Turkish city of Bursa and the Imrali Prison Directorate to meet with their clients; Leader Abdullah Ocalan, Omar Hayri Konar, Hamili Yildirim, and Veysi Aktaş.
Worth to note that Al-Asr Law Office’s lawyers submit two requests every week to the Public Prosecutor’s Office in the Turkish city of Bursa and the Imrali Prison Directorate.
The last meeting with the leader was on August 7, 2019, while his last contact with the outside world was on March 25, 2021, during a phone call with his brother Muhamed Ocalan for 5 minutes, then the call was cut off. Al-Asr Human Rights Office states the following:
* Only 5 meetings were held for the lawyers, from July 27, 2011 onwards, and they were during the period from May to August 2019, and the last meeting with him was on August 7, 2019.
* Since 2014, only 5 family meetings have been conducted with him.
* The last face-to-face meeting with his brother was on August 3, 2020.
*Since day one, only two phone calls have been made (April 27, 2020 and March 25, 2021)
* The last phone conversation was on March 25, 2021. It lasted five minutes and then was cut off, and no information was obtained from it.
Leader Abdullah Ocalan has been detained for more than 24 years in Imrali Island prison in the Sea of Marmara, following an international conspiracy carried out by international and regional forces, in 1999 in the Kenyan capital, Nairobi, and he was handed over to the Turkish occupation state on February 15 of the same year.
