Kurds and their friends prepare to celebrate Newroz in Rojava, Damascus and Aleppo

Residents in a number of Kurdish cities and Rojava regions, along with Kurds in Damascus and the Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood of Aleppo, are preparing to celebrate Newroz amidst extensive preparations and intensive organization that reflects the importance of this national occasion.

Residents of the cities of Amuda, Qamishli, Derik, and Kobani in Rojava, along with Kurds in the Syrian capital Damascus and the residents of the Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood in Aleppo, are preparing to celebrate Newroz today amidst an atmosphere of enthusiasm and extensive preparations for the occasion.

This year's celebration is held under the slogan: "Let's make Newroz a celebration of Leader Apo's freedom and Kurdish democratic unity," reflecting the participants' aspirations for freedom and the strengthening of Kurdish unity.

The residents of Girkê Legê, Çil Axa, and their surrounding towns and villages will celebrate in the village of Haliq, while the residents of Derik will celebrate in Martyr çiçek Square. The residents of Amuda and its surrounding villages will celebrate in the village of Jaghr Bazar, and the residents of the Kobani region will celebrate in Mishtanur. In the Syrian capital, Damascus, celebrations will take place in the Dummar Project – Al-Fayhaa Stadium next to the Cardiac Surgery Hospital, and in the Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh neighborhoods of the Shaqif area.

In this context, the committees organizing the Newroz celebrations have completed their preparations, having prepared and decorated the squares and celebration platforms with Kurdish symbols and flags in anticipation of welcoming the attendees.

Participants are scheduled to begin arriving at the celebration venues at 10:00 AM, with the Newroz torch to be lit at 11:00 AM, marking the start of the festivities.

The Newroz celebrations in the cities of Qamishli, Hasaka, Derbasiyah, and Tirbespiyê have been postponed and will now be held on March 24th at 11:00 AM in the designated locations.
