Kongra Star: Leader’s freedom is essential for achieving peace

The Kongra Star Council in Serêkaniyê Camp called for the physical freedom of Leader Abdullah Ocalan, stressing that his freedom represents the fundamental guarantee for achieving peace in the region and the Middle East.

The Kongra Star Council in Serêkaniyê Camp, located in the Hasaka in Jazira Canton, issued a statement demanding the physical freedom of Leader Abdullah Ocalan. The statement was read by Kongra Star administrator Zaynab Hemo, in the presence of council members and women displaced from Serêkaniyê and Tal Abyad/Girê Spî.

The statement pointed out that Leader Ocalan has been held for more than 25 years on Imrali Island under total isolation. It also called on freedom-seeking peoples to intensify their struggle to lift the isolation and achieve the physical freedom of Leader Ocalan.

The statement affirmed that women are struggling in line with the ideas and philosophy of Leader Ocalan, noting that his physical freedom constitutes a comprehensive solution to the problems of the Middle East and is a fundamental condition for achieving peace in the region.
