Members of the Kongra Star Council issued a statement regarding the recent situation in S. Kurdistan and the policies being enacted against the Kurdish people. The statement was read by Ibtissam Hussein, an administrator at the Kongra Star, before their center in the city of Qamishlo.

The statement highlighted the relationship between the Turkish state and the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) , saying: "We know that the relationship between the Turkish state and the KDP has existed from the beginning, with the KDP continuing its betrayal of the Kurdish liberation movement and the Kurdish people in general. However, after the Kurdish people in N. Kurdistan won the recent elections there and Erdogan's fascist power diminished, the policies of re-occupation of Kurdistan and the appointment of overseers for municipalities began."

The KDP swiftly moved to rescue the defeated Turkish fascism by deliberately setting fire to several factories in S. Kurdistan, accusing the Kurdish liberation movement of the act. In reality, this is part of their dirty war policies, aimed at concealing the truth and distracting public attention to cover up their dirty practices each time.

The statement also noted that ISIS mercenaries have been fighting alongside the fascist Turkish state against the Kurdish fighters in the mountains of Kurdistan, adding: "Reports indicate that around 800 ISIS fighters and 1500 village guards have been brought to S. Kurdistan to fight against the Kurdish liberation fighters. There are now openly 3,000 armored vehicles, 4,000 soldiers, and 100 Turkish bases and headquarters in S. Kurdistan. They confiscate citizens' identities, kill patriots, and attempt to force locals into espionage. The Turkish state has penetrated S. Kurdistan's territory by dozens of kilometers, and the KDP’s peshmerga, trained by Turkish intelligence, participate in these dirty policies, trying to incite Kurds to shed each other's blood."

The council highlighted the Turkish military bases in S. Kurdistan, stating: "According to the latest statistics and information, they have built 58 bases in Derik, Kani Masi, and Shiladze in recent years. They have also recently constructed new bases in Amadiya and Shiladze. This betrayal has now surpassed the limits of tolerance. The Barzani family, which maintains its power and influence through the bloodshed of Kurdish youth, has not been satiated by the blood and betrayal."

The council urged the Kurdish people to recognize that the Barzani family is rescuing the fascist Turkish state, which is being defeated by the Kurdish liberation fighters. They have caused significant damage to Kurdish unity and the land of Kurdistan. Hundreds of civilians have been killed, dozens of villages burned, and Kurdistan's forests are being set ablaze daily in a barbaric manner, with trees cut and animals burned before the eyes of the world. Unfortunately, the Iraqi government and the international community remain silent, indicating that the Turkish state, the KDP, and the Iraqi government are in agreement on the policies of Kurdish extermination, burning, invading Kurdistan's geography and occupating S. Kurdistan. They are pursuing the same policies.

The statement noted that the Barzani family has never protected the interests of the Kurdish people nor pursued a policy of unity. On the contrary, it has consistently pursued policies of incitement, corruption, and betrayal. It continued: "The postponement of elections in S. Kurdistan reflects this, as the Barzani family currently governs S. Kurdistan in an illegitimate and unlawful manner through coercion. This is consistent with their history; just as they previously allowed Saddam Hussein’s tanks to enter and occupy Hawler, they now permit the Turks to enter Kurdistan to reoccupy it. As we all know, the fascist Turkish state does not withdraw from the territories it enters. This animosity is first and foremost directed against our resistant Kurdish people in S. Kurdistan. We all know that our people in S. Kurdistan fought a matchless resistance against Saddam Hussein’s fascism, sacrificed their children, and faced repression and persecution. Today, the Barzani family easily relinquishes our people's achievements in S. Kurdistan to the fascist Turkish state without any accountability. This is unethical, and no one with a conscience or morality can accept, let alone participate in, such dirty and immoral policies.”

The statement noted the unparalleled resistance of the Kurdish liberation fighters (Guerrilla forces) against the plan to exterminate the Kurds and destroy Kurdistan’s nature, stating that the Turkish occupation army is suffering severe losses. It concluded: "The Kurdish people, particularly women, should form a democratic public opinion to oppose the extermination and betrayal policies of the Barzani family and expose these dirty policies as much as possible."

The council ended the statement by addressing the Barzani family: "You have never defended or protected Kurdish interests or Kurdistan, and you do not do so today. You have always been on the side of betrayal and have never represented the people. You are committing historical betrayal, and we call on you to immediately retract these policies. You will be held accountable before history and the people. We, at the Kongra Star, will not remain silent about these anti-people and anti-women policies that divide and kill the people. We will continue our resistance and struggle against them.”
