KOBANI

For the past few days, the Events Committee of the Euphrates Canton in NE Syria has been decorating the main streets of Kobani city with banners and images of martyrs, marking the anniversary of the July 19 Revolution.

The Rojava Revolution began on July 19, 2012, with the liberation of Kobani from the Ba'athist regime.

Throughout history, peoples witness pivotal moments and turning points that leave a mark on political, military, cultural, and economic fields, resonating both internally and externally. A similar phase began twelve years ago in the city of Kobani, in Rojava, precisely on July 19, 2012. The movement, initially led by the Kurds, eventually evolved into an autonomous administration system that includes all components, cultures, religions, and beliefs in the region. The starting point of the revolution holds special significance, particularly as Kobani is known in the history of the Kurdish people and other communities as the land of the ancestors.
