Protesters from Kobani at Tishrin Dam affirmed that they will continue their resistance until the last breath and will not abandon their dam despite the repeated massacres against the Kurdish people. This was in response to the Turkish occupation state's massacre of an entire family on a farm between the villages of Qomji and Barkh Botan, south of Kobani.

In response to the horrific massacre committed by the Turkish occupation on Sunday night, which claimed the lives of nine members of a single family on a farm between the villages of Qomji and Barkh Botan, south of Kobani, protesters from Kobani at Tishrin Dam affirmed that they will continue their resistance until the last breath and will not abandon their dam despite the repeated massacres against the Kurdish people.

Sherin Mustafa, a Kobani resident who has been protesting against the Tishrin Dam for days, said, "The massacres committed by the Turkish occupation, from Halabja to Kobani in 2015, all the way to the Barkh Botan massacre, all point to one goal: the extermination of the Kurdish people. The world is watching and not taking action, but we are a resilient people, and our will; will not end."

Sherin added, "We call on the world to take action to stop these massacres. The Turkish occupation is trying to break our will, but we are an unbreakable people. Victory is ours, no matter how many crimes they commit."

For his part, protester Rajab Jumaa said, "The massacres committed against the Kurdish people are many, but the killer is one: the Turkish state. From Halabja to Kobani, all the way to the Tishrin Dam, Turkey lives off the blood of the Kurdish people."

Rajab continued, "We are the bearers of the philosophy of resistance, and our will; will not be broken. The occupation and the traitors will die, but we will remain steadfast. We will resist until our last breath, because resistance is life."

Islam Ali, a mother of three and a protester against the Tishrin Dam, said, "What is the fault of this family that was killed while they slept? We are a peaceful people who love peace, and we have never attacked anyone. This land is the land of our ancestors. Why are we being killed for no reason?"

Islam added, "We will continue our resistance and support our forces until our last breath. The Turkish occupation claims to be Islamic, but it is far removed from Islam and from human values. We are here to protect the Tishrin Dam, and we will not abandon it, no matter the cost."

These responses come as the Turkish occupation continues to launch violent attacks on civilians in North and East Syria, exacerbating the suffering of the local population. Nevertheless, the people of Kobani affirm that their will will not be broken and that they will continue to fight for their rights and freedom.
