The Education Committee of the (KCK) said, through a statement, that the Kurdish Language Day is a day of gaining knowledge against the policies of oppression, a day of resistance against the policy of destruction, and a day of adopting the community’s memory against the concept of forgetting.

The statement said: “In the name of the Education Committee in KCK, we congratulate Leader "APO", who brought our people’s hope for freedom to an unparalleled level of struggle, and did not know any obstacles to this cause, and our immortal martyrs who achieved immortality in the cause of the existence, language, values and freedom of our people.” And also our resistant people who did not abandon their language despite all kinds of bans, pressures, persecution and killings and did not submit to the enemy, on the day of the Kurdish language.”

The statement also referred to the following words of leader Abdullah Ocalan: “The level of language development is the level of development of life to the extent that a society has developed its mother language, it has also developed its standard of life, and to the extent that it has lost its language and been subjected to the dominance of other languages, it has been subjected to occupation, destruction, and massacres. Societies that live in this reality cannot have a meaningful life in terms of awareness, morals, and aesthetics. They will be condemned to a tragic life until they are wiped out as sick societies.”

The statement also stated: “Defining the Kurdish language as forbidden, dangerous, and discriminatory is essentially a policy of eliminating the existence of the Kurds. It is necessary for us to resist this genocide by speaking the Kurdish language, writing in the Kurdish language, and organizing. We must continue the struggle to adopt the language and develop it.” Its level is higher than ever, and at this stage, as much as it is a struggle against injustice, it is the duty of every Kurd who believes in a free future to fight assimilation on a daily basis.

We must not forget; Education in the mother tongue is the most legitimate right, and in order to acquire this right, self-organization in all areas of life and carrying out activities is a legitimate right and an indispensable necessity.

Therefore, our people everywhere must see in speaking and writing in the Kurdish language the essential act for the immortality of the mother tongue, and must engage in a vigorous struggle to ensure learning in the mother tongue wherever they are, to remove the obstacles that prevent the use of the mother tongue, and must never give way to the concept of one language.
