KCK congratulates PUK on its anniversary

On Monday, the Co-Presidency of the Executive Council of the KCK issued a congratulatory message marking the anniversary of the founding of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan.

The message stated:

"Mr. President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, Bafel Jalal Talabani, esteemed members of the Political Bureau and the Supreme Political Council,

On the occasion of the 51st anniversary of the founding of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, we extend our warmest congratulations to you and to all the cadres, members, and supporters of the PUK, wishing you continued health and success.

The establishment of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan carries great historical significance. At a time when despair and frustration prevailed in Southern Kurdistan, the PUK became a new ray of hope for the Kurdish people by launching a new revolution and resuming struggle and resistance against the fascist Ba'ath regime.

Since then, and up to the present day, the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan has played an important role in consolidating and strengthening national and democratic achievements in Southern Kurdistan.

Under the leadership of the late President Jalal Talabani, the PUK also played a significant role in supporting political movements and struggles in other parts of Kurdistan, as well as efforts aimed at finding a peaceful solution to the Kurdish issue.

The comradeship and friendship that united President Jalal Talabani, Abdullah Ocalan, and Ibrahim Ahmad are evidence of this reality. This relationship also represents a foundation for national and democratic unity among the four parts of Kurdistan.

We believe that remaining faithful to this historical legacy requires strengthening the struggle and efforts toward national unity with the participation of all political forces and parties throughout Kurdistan.

Once again, we congratulate you on this day, as well as the families of the heroic martyrs and all the people of Kurdistan. We bow with respect and reverence before the memory of the martyrs and wish you continued success and prosperity."
