Today, KCDK-E issued a statement affirming that August 3, 2014, marks one of the darkest chapters in human history, as it witnessed one of the most horrific acts of genocide against the Yazidi people, perpetrated by ISIS mercenaries in a systematic attempt to annihilate an entire people. Among the Yazidis, this atrocity is known as the "74th Firman."

The statement added that the Yazidi people, who have endured dozens of massacres throughout their history, faced a comprehensive campaign of extermination in Shengal aimed at eliminating their very existence. It noted that "Leader APO" had previously warned of the dangers threatening Sinjar and called for the protection of its inhabitants, emphasizing that a historic resistance was mounted in the face of those attacks."

The congress renewed its call on the United Nations, the Council of Europe, the European Union, and all international human rights institutions to officially recognize the Shengal genocide, in accordance with international law, as both a crime against humanity and an act of genocide. It also urged support for recognizing the Yazidi people's right to democratic self-organization and self-defense as a means of preventing similar tragedies in the future.

The statement emphasized that the pain caused by the genocide remains as profound today as it was when the atrocities occurred. It called for the immediate disclosure of the fate of the missing women and children, the prosecution of all those responsible before international courts, and an end to the violations still being committed against the Yazidi people.

The congress concluded its statement by commemorating the victims of the Shengal genocide, renewing its call for urgent efforts to determine the fate of the women and children who remain missing, to achieve justice, and to ensure that such crimes are never repeated.
