In a statement delivered today, Monday, in front of the Mohammed Sheikho Center for Culture and Art in Qamishlo, attended by many women, members of women's organizations and movements, and representatives of political parties, Kongra Star expressed its strong condemnation of the massacres and violations being committed against civilians in the Syrian coast.

The statement, which was read in Kurdish by Ibtisam Al-Hussein, an administrator of Kongra Star in Jazera Canton, and in Arabic by Safaa Sultan, a member of the Women's Committee in the Education and Training Body in Jazera Canton, included the following:

"In recent days, armed forces affiliated with the Damascus authority have carried out brutal massacres in Syrian cities such as Latakia, Homs, and Tartus, where the majority of the Alawite community resides. These crimes targeted women, children, and unarmed civilians, accompanied by acts of violence and brutal repression, these are inhumane acts.

These massacres and violations committed against Syrian citizens are a clear manifestation of the practices of extremist jihadist groups. Many children, women, and poor families are being killed mercilessly. Even if some try to justify these acts under the pretext of fighting the 'remnants of the regime' and their affiliates, the truth is that they are actually promoting an extremist jihadist ideology and a radical Islamic regime under this excuse.

The international silence regarding these inhumane crimes by international organizations and bodies, especially the United Nations, is completely unacceptable. This brutality instills fear in the minds of people and imposes a new reality of terror.

Everyone, regardless of religious or ethnic affiliation, must take a firm stance against these massacres targeting women, children, and innocent people. These violations and crimes must be stopped immediately, especially since they are deliberately committed against the Alawite community and other sects, which clearly reveals that they are not merely military operations but systematic practices serving the interests of the ruling regime in Damascus.

Through these brutal policies, they seek to drag Syria back into chaos, war, and conflict. These actions aim to consolidate their power through force and spread fear and terror in Syrian society to prevent the realization of peace, freedom, and equality because their mindset is hostile to these values.

At the same time, their deep hostility towards women is evident, as women are clearly targeted in these crimes. But the truth is that the will of the people is not easily broken, and the free will always resist injustice and tyranny and continue to fight for their human rights.

Therefore, it is essential that all democratic forces, international organizations, and the United Nations confront these crimes and violations and not remain silent in the face of such brutality.

The Damascus authority, with its hostility towards religious diversity, women, and children, will be incapable of building a safe and just future for Syrian society. A democratic system based on equality and freedom cannot be achieved under such oppressive and authoritarian policies.

At the start of the Women’s Spring celebrations and the launch of the peace and democracy project, we in the Kongra Star in North and East Syria declare our complete rejection of these brutal crimes targeting the Alawite community, especially women and children. We strongly condemn these inhumane actions and consider them a disgrace to those who commit or justify them, as they represent nothing but an extremist mindset seeking to impose its control through repression and violence.

We call on all women of the world to raise their voices and intensify their struggle against these brutal massacres and to raise global awareness about these inhumane crimes. We must all unite and resist with intelligence, strength, and compassion against the war of power and extremist jihadist ideology.

We also call on all Syrian women to be united in opposing these crimes and to express their rejection of killing and extermination. The time has come to raise our voices, organize our ranks, and demand a free, equal, democratic, and peaceful life."
