The Martyrs' Families Council in the city of Jel Agha, in Jazira region, organized a march on Sunday demanding the physical freedom of leader Abdullah Ocalan and condemning the attacks targeting the Kurdish people. Dozens of children, wives, mothers, and fathers of martyrs, along with members of civil institutions in Jel Agha and its towns participated in the march.

The participants gathered in front of the Democratic Union Party (PYD) office, carrying pictures of leader Abdullah Ocalan alongside Kurdish flags and symbols.

The march kicked off with chanting slogans of "No life without the leader," and proceeded towards the city center.

Upon reaching the Martyr Masoum Square, the march transformed into a public gathering, as the participants held a minute of silence in tribute for the martyrs. Then, a statement on behalf of the martyrs' families was read, first in Kurdish by Yunus Haji; the member of the city's school administration, and in Arabic by Media Abdullah; the member of the Abira town council.

The statement indicated that the Kurdish issue is currently passing through a highly sensitive historic phase, where regional and international interests intersect at the expense of the legitimate aspirations of the Kurdish people. Therefore, these exceptional circumstances necessitate that the Kurdish people rise to the level of historical responsibility by strengthening Kurdish unity and a unified stance.

The statement continued, "We, in the Martyrs' Families Council in Jel Agha, affirm that Kurdish unity is not merely a political option, but an existential necessity and a safeguard for protecting the gains achieved thanks to the blood of the martyrs."

The statement emphasized that any actions or fragmentation in discourse or position only serve the schemes that seek to undermine the will and identity of the Kurdish people, calling on all Kurdish forces to set aside their differences and standing up for shared national principles to confront the critical challenges.

The statement added, "The physical freedom of leader Abdullah Ocalan is the fundamental key to resolving the outstanding issues and achieving a just peace in the region."

The statement concluded by calling on all Kurdish forces across Kurdistan to unify their political discourse to confront the existential threats targeting all parts of Kurdistan, and to escalate the peaceful mass struggle demanding the freedom of leader Abdullah Ocalan, whom they described as a symbol of the Kurds and the owner of their liberation project.

The march and rally concluded with chants of "Freedom for leader Abdullah Ocalan" and "Glory and eternity to the martyrs."
