Israeli Incursion into countryside of Quneitra

An Israeli force consisting of five military vehicles advanced today into a village in the countryside of Quneitra, where it set up a checkpoint, as part of a series of escalating incursions.

An Israeli patrol made up of five military vehicles entered the village of Ain Ziwan in the Quneitra countryside today, coming from the Tel Ahmar al-Gharbi base, penetrating deep into the village near the border strip with the Golan Heights.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reported that the Israeli force established a checkpoint on the main road and began inspecting passersby and civilians, amid a state of tension and caution among local residents.

This movement comes amid an escalation in Israeli ground incursions in the Quneitra countryside in recent times, during which forces establish temporary observation points or conduct sweep operations in villages adjacent to the ceasefire line.

The SOHR also monitored additional incursions last evening, which included the villages of Bariqa, Umm al-Atham, al-Mushairfa, and Ruwayhina, where Israeli forces set up temporary checkpoints and monitored several areas for short periods.
