The city of Quneitra witnessed notable field developments in recent hours, sparking tension among local residents. An Israeli military convoy had been deployed on the road between the town of Al-Hamidiyah and the Governorate building in Quneitra. The convoy consisted of 14 military vehicles and three “Merkava” tanks, amid a visible state of alert in the surrounding area.

After several hours, the Israeli forces withdrew their vehicles in succession without any clashes or reported contact. No official statements have been issued by the Israeli side regarding the nature or objectives of the maneuver.

In a related development, images have circulated showing Israeli soldiers near the Al-Ruwayhina dam, prompting widespread discontent among Syrian citizens who viewed the move as a deliberate provocation, given the region’s sensitivity and the recurrence of Israeli incursions.

Activists consider these movements to be demonstrative in nature, taking place amid escalating regional tensions and representing a fresh violation of the 1974 Disengagement Agreement, which established a demilitarized buffer zone between Syria and Israel under United Nations supervision.
