The Israeli military announced in a statement that it had launched airstrikes overnight on positions belonging to the Syrian Interim Government in southern Syria, in response to the events happened on Thursday in which Druze civilians were attacked in Sweida.

The Israeli military added that it had targeted a command center and weapons depots in military compounds in southern Syria. It emphasized that it would not allow harm to come to the Druze in Syria and would continue to act to protect them."

This attack marks the first Israeli strike in Syria since the start of the Israeli-American war on Iran.
