ISIS plot foiled, 3 mercenaries arrested in eastern Deir ez-Zor countryside

The SDF issued a statement to the public, revealing the foiling of an ISIS cell plot in Al-Takihi, in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor. The statement read:

"Thanks to continuous security and military efforts, our forces, the SDF, were able to apprehend a terrorist cell consisting of three members affiliated with the ISIS terrorist organization in the town of Al-Takihi, eastern Deir ez-Zor countryside.

The operation came after careful monitoring of the cell members’ movements, who were preparing to carry out terrorist attacks targeting the security and stability of the region. Our forces imposed a tight security cordon on their location and arrested them without any casualties.

During the operation, weapons and documents were seized, proving the arrested individuals’ affiliation with ISIS and confirming their involvement in planning terrorist operations that threaten civilians' lives.

We, the SDF, reiterate our firm commitment to pursuing the remnants of ISIS and its sleeper cells and to foiling their attempts to destabilize security in North and East Syria. We emphasize that we will continue to fulfill our national and humanitarian duty to protect our people and preserve their achievements."
