Iraqi Professor: with the spread extremism; there’s no chance of peace

The Iraqi professor and doctor, Tayseer Abdul-Jabbar Al-Alusi, confirmed that the Palestinian conflict and other crises in the Middle East resulted from wrong solutions imposed by their historical circumstances and agreements between the dominant international powers, and pointed out that the rise of extremism and religious and nationalist extremism from which the forces of political Islam and Jewish extremists benefit. It will not provide an opportunity for a just and lasting solution, and the solution lies in strengthening the democratic approach that guarantees everyone their rights.

Data indicate that the ongoing war between Israel and Hamas will be prolonged and will have disastrous effects on the Palestinian and Israeli peoples, and the dominant countries will seek to exploit it and achieve the interests behind it, in addition to optimal solutions to the conflict.

In this regard, ANHA agency conducted an interview with the Iraqi professor and doctor, Tayseer Abdul-Jabbar Al-Alusi, and the text of the dialogue was as follows:

*To what extent do the Palestinian and Israeli people suffer from this war? What are the dominant powers that seek to benefit from this?

The issue of conflict between its two parties did not begin recently, but was born from the womb of solutions imposed by its historical circumstances characterized by cruelty and violence, like all unstable conditions that result from wars and forms of violence, awaiting another episode of violence. Hence, the peoples of the Middle East region have continued to experience actual suffering resulting from These serial episodes of explosions are reflexive reactions that are not controlled by the logic of wisdom or objectivity in response to the demands of the people and the most effective means of achieving them.

The scandalous evidence is the new episode of the war that is taking place today. Although the Palestinian people have been the losers for many decades in the modern history of the liberation and emancipation movement, they are still suffering under occupation on the one hand and are experiencing the torments of neither war nor peace between the explosion of the situation every time it becomes tense. Things will become more apparent if they are subject to the will of the forces of violence, or even terrorism, concealed by defending the cause while it is exploiting it for its own interests, and exclusively with political Islam, which has found, through the phenomenon of its regional support, a high status, accompanied by constant silences and negativity towards the rise of its star, or even unjustified support and cooperation other than by passing on the interests of the supporters and representing them, or submit to its directions.

Today, we are witnessing a severe and dangerous example of this suffering through the occurrence of the largest displacement phenomenon since the middle of the last century that is intended to be transformed into forced displacement as a result of the horror of sabotage and destruction by the Israeli war machine, which is one of the major crimes that are trying to cover up with justifications for uprooting Hamas what cannot be compatible with logic. Because [i.e., forced displacement] is a crime in all its descriptions in light of international law and international humanitarian law, as (a crime of aggression, war crimes, crimes against humanity, and even genocide crimes) are committed here.

So, suffering here is not just a problem of reaching human needs or demands, but rather an issue of the existence of a people and the entitlement to their aspiration to obtain the right to life, security and stability. What is missing is not in 40% of the Gaza Strip as imposed by that war on the ground, but rather that fact extends, with the scale of its catastrophic suffering and atrocities, to include every inch of Palestinian land, whether in Gaza or in the West Bank.

The diagnosis of the forms and levels of suffering of the Palestinian people was made by the United Nations and its human rights and humanitarian organizations from the perspective of the extension of the Palestinian issue for decades and what it means by the failure of the establishment of a free, independent, viable Palestinian state that is not infiltrated, or by the foreseeable level of the issue from the spread of Israeli forces and their practice of state terrorism in the West Bank in parallel with a certain extent. He expects disasters against the backdrop of scorched earth and the comprehensive destruction of Gaza, which the right-wing Israeli government is expected to go further into with the presence of a green light from important international powers, whether with direct support or with its double standards that manipulate the passage of its rhetoric when necessary.

The research here must focus on getting rid of the cause of the disaster, because without that, the crisis will continue in its origins and will threaten international peace and security in the region and the world in particular, with red lines regarding the crimes of forced displacement that are declared publicly. I mention here that the crimes of demographic change are under any pretext is major crimes that are prohibited and have means of punishment in approved international laws, and therefore the talk about who benefits from the war, whether locally, regionally or internationally, will be a reality in this context and not in the contexts of calculating profit and loss and the outcomes of the conflict that are intended to remain in the service of beneficiary forces, which are the forces of extremism, extremism and terrorism. In the middle of all parties.

If the suffering is not ended, it will be the gateway to hell for the world, due to the danger of the region and the complexity of its situation. I mention here, as examples but not limited to, the interests of Iran and Turkey and the crimes of demographic change committed in the occupied areas in favor of what those two regional powers seek to impose, and here there will be other complex repercussions on the shoulders of that suffering.

What is the best solution to this conflict?

Cases of the situation becoming unruly and aggravating have repeatedly occurred, leading to wars, battles, and attacks occurring, depending on their size and nature each time. The conditions of the Palestinian people are torn apart by many backgrounds and causes, some of which are contradictory. Likewise, this has continuously allowed Israel to escape forward without punishment or accountability, and without...what obligates it to implement the numerous UN resolutions that oblige it to end its occupation and achieve the establishment of a free, independent, viable Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with the resolutions of the United Nations, the Security Council, and all international organizations, conferences, and agreements that took place. In recent decades, starting with Resolutions 242 and 338 and not ending with the United Nations General Assembly’s approval of the declaration of the State of Palestine on November 15, 1988, with Resolution No. 43/177.

On the other hand, the issue is not the issue of Israel’s commitment to those decisions in light of the rise of the extreme nationalist right and its exposed ambitions, but rather the issue of the choices of the people of Palestine, which choices remain governed and restricted apart from their right to their own state and to self-determination. The secret of these restrictions goes back to cultural and spiritual levels that are spread and imposed in public circles, which creates fragility in the situation and the will deviates in ideological choices, especially, but exclusively, in the rise of the star of political Islam and the choice of its religiously extremist forces and their terrorist nature, which finds an incubator that afflicts all parties and their peoples with the interests of those narrowism groups, which takes the rhetoric of terrorist extremism or extreme nationalist racism by exploiting political religion on both sides of the conflict. It should be noted that these forces are growing in size against the backdrop of intellectual fragility and levels of awareness of what is causing the crisis and directing its elements.

- Approval of the free and independent State of Palestine.

-Freeing the region of weapons of mass destruction, starting with nuclear weapons.

- Emphasizing the prohibition of any behavior that conflicts with the democratic approach that guarantees all rights and freedoms, and the principle of peaceful coexistence in a way that does not deprive any party of its rights for any false medical claims.

- Solving the issue of refugees since 1947 in a comprehensive manner, based on known objective readings.

  - A project to rebuild the countries of the region, starting with Palestine, with an international mechanism in which the major countries and the European Union contribute.

- Banning offensive weapons of war and working to formulate mutual disarmament agreements.

  - Develop appropriate solutions to the problem of resources and sovereignty over them in accordance with applicable laws and serve the interests of the peoples of the region on a just basis.

I must emphasize that the presence of an international conference that discusses a just and comprehensive solution will imply setting the ideal model for resolving complex issues in the region and providing a basis for fulfilling the right to self-determination for all peoples who have been afflicted by the deprivation of this right and have been torn between the countries of the Sykes-Picot Agreement, for example, or other countries that have imposed it. Victorious in the first and second global wars, what remains to this day groans from coercive impositions at the expense of those peoples, the forefront of which is the people of Kurdistan, with its four parts.

Hence, searching for a just solution to a burning issue at this critical historical moment does not mean that we pass without pausing towards other issues. Because the fire under the ashes and the existence of any major issue without a solution is a reason for more suffering and more atrocities, as is happening towards the people of Eastern, Northern, or Western Kurdistan, and even in Southern Kurdistan.

* Where will the situation go after the end of the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas?

The war sparked by the reluctance to meet the will of the people and the procrastination in implementing UN resolutions regarding the two-state solution and the establishment of a free, independent, unified and viable State of Palestine; These situations were exploited by the forces of extremism, racism, and terrorism and ignited them at the expense of the right to a free and dignified life and at the expense of security and stability. They benefited from them, as we clearly indicated. Therefore, the situation after ending the events of war and the ceasefire will move towards multiple possibilities, including very weak and stopping them without significant serious change. To separate among its outputs a marketing of the forces of political Islam on one front and the forces of racist nationalist extremism on an opposing front, waiting for a new opportunity to ignite! This weak possibility, which I put as the last possibility, will result from the efforts of the parties that possess some of the strings of the game to retreat from the scale of devastation and combustion that is no longer tolerable from any party of freedom and peace, the forces of the living peoples and their solidarity movement demanding an immediate cessation of the war.

But the most prominent and important possibility may be to push for an international peace conference, including the parties to the Arab initiative, the permanent members of the Security Council, and the parties concerned in previous conferences on the Middle East issue, such as Spain, Norway, and others, with the roles of important regional powers to produce results that are responsive to the International Charter and its resolutions and for what serves the people of the region.

In any case, it is not possible to be certain about the shape of events unless one reads how the ongoing war will be ended and what the extent of the variables are on both sides, as change in Israel will perhaps be easier in favor of the end of the Netanyahu era and the arrival of his replacement, but it remains charged with the implications of internal change there to restrict the surrounding variables, while the change will be burdened Palestinian with the pain of destruction and devastation and its effects on the people on the one hand, and with the spread of ideological options, including the state of structural clash between extremist Hamas and its terrorism, and its ability to expand at the expense of Palestinian forces capable of expressing the right to self-determination and establishing a state, forces that have been marginalized and their capabilities sabotaged due to what they committed, not the forces of Israeli racist extremism. Not only that, but also all the forces of extremism and support for the discourse of political Islam, whether those in Tehran and Ankara or the models imposed by the two forces of fragile, torn states.

All of these axes must be considered in order for the will of the peoples of the region to determine their fate to be met, whether with independent, free, viable democratic states or with democratic confederations that respond to the aspirations of those peoples and allow full rights and freedoms without restriction, aggression, or crimes covered up by one claim or another.

I must salute all the forces seeking to fulfill the rights, most notably the right to self-determination, impose the will of peace, and meet the conditions for living in dignity, stability, security, and safety for all the peoples of the region and its people. I salute you for this meeting, wishing you and your media efforts success in covering the most effective, safest, and objective visions. And deeper in dealing with its topics.
