The CEO of the Syrian Petroleum Company said that a project to build a pipeline to transport Iraqi oil to the Syrian coast could begin during the first quarter of 2027.

The CEO of the Syrian Petroleum Company, Youssef Qablawi, said today that a project to build a pipeline to transport oil from Iraq to the Syrian coast on the Mediterranean Sea could begin during the first quarter of 2027.

Qablawi explained during the Energy Intelligence Forum in London that the project is currently in the preliminary engineering design phase, while work is underway to prepare the port of Baniyas to receive shipments of Iraqi crude oil.
