According to the monthly report issued by the Kurdistan Human Rights Organization, alarming statistics were recorded concerning executions and arrests in Eastern Kurdistan. The report noted that in August alone, 28 individuals, including one woman, were executed, while 27 Kurdish citizens were summoned or detained by the Iranian Ministry of Intelligence.

The report further stated that the Iranian judiciary handed down arbitrary sentences during the same period, amounting to a total of 64 years’ imprisonment, in addition to 24 months and 17 days of suspended sentences, against 12 Kurdish citizens on charges described as “lacking legal basis.”

The head of the Iranian judiciary, Hossein Mohseni Ejei, announced at a press conference that authorities had arrested more than 2,000 individuals during the most recent 12-day conflict between Iran and Israel.

Meanwhile, the Kurdistan Human Rights Network reported that since the onset of Israeli strikes, Iranian security and intelligence forces have detained more than 335 Kurdish activists and citizens in cities including Ilam, Urmia, Sanandaj, Kermanshah, Tehran, and North Khorasan—without judicial warrants.
