The Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party (HDP) in Turkey issued a statement today regarding the program expected to be implemented in Southern Kurdistan, as part of a new phase of the "Peace and Democratic Society Process."

The party explained that "the current days mark an important historical turning point, and a group of PKK members are expected to initiate new practical steps within the territory of Southern Kurdistan, in accordance with the decisions of the recent party congress."

The party, which has sought to play a constructive role since the beginning of the process, confirmed its invitation to a limited number of columnists (between 15 and 20, depending on the allocated quota) to participate in the upcoming event. They will visit Southern Kurdistan accompanied by representatives of civil society organizations and political parties coordinated by the party.

Finally, the HDP invited journalists wishing to cover the event to send their names, information about their organizations, copies of their press cards, as well as their phone numbers and email addresses to the party's email addresses.

The party noted that this information will be sent to the Southern Kurdistan Regional Government (GRG) for accreditation, and that the date and organizational details of the event will be announced later.
