Internal Security Forces thwarts attempt to bring weapons into Raqqa

The Internal Security Forces in the NE Syria thwarted an attempt by ISIS mercenaries to bring a quantity of weapons into Raqqa canton to carry out “terrorist” acts to attack security and stability there.

Today, on its official website, the Internal Security Forces in North and East Syria announced the arrest of 2 people linked to ISIS mercenaries, and the seizure of a quantity of weapons.

The text of the statement read: “During our patrols on the road between Raqqa and Deir ez-Zor on Saturday, January 6, a truck carrying tons of cotton was suspected, and during a thorough inspection, a quantity of weapons, ammunition, and missiles were found, and the two people on board were also arrested.” The weapons seized were as follows:

-2 Kalashnikov

-20 Kalashnikov magazine

-1000 Kalashnikov ammunition

-15 Hand grenade with explosive detonators

-12 Filling for R.B.G shells

-1 BKC weapon

-2549 BKC weapon ammunition

-1 9mm pistol

During their initial investigation, the 2 detainees confessed to their connection to the terrorist organization ISIS, and that these weapons were to carry out terrorist acts to undermine the security and stability of the city.”
