The Internal Security Forces were able to seize a quantity of ammunition before it was smuggled at the Tabqa crossing.

Today, the Media Center of the Internal Security Forces – North and East Syria issued a statement to the public opinion, in which it explained that the anti-crime forces were able to seize a quantity of ammunition during the search of vehicles at the Tabqa crossing on March 5.

"During a routine vehicle inspection at the Tabqa crossing, 20,400 rounds of Kalashnikov ammunition were found stored inside airtight boxes. The driver was arrested as soon as the ammunition was discovered, and investigations began to find out more details about the incident."

The statement read the driver was referred to the Public Prosecution to complete the legal procedures against him. "Its continued commitment to combating the smuggling of weapons and ammunition and ensuring the security and stability of the region by strengthening inspection and surveillance procedures."
