Internal Security Forces remove mine in Deir ez-Zor

The Internal Security Forces were able to remove an anti-armor mine in Deir ez-Zor Canton, after receiving a report from residents about the presence of a suspicious object.

The engineering units of the Internal Security Forces removed an anti-armor mine on a side road in the village of Hawi al-Hasan, west of Deir ez-Zor, yesterday.

The Internal Security Forces reported that, according to: “A report submitted by residents to one of our forces’ centers stating the presence of a suspicious object in the town of Hawi al-Hussan, west of the city. Our forces and mine engineering teams rushed to the aforementioned place, so that members of our forces began to impose a security cordon and deport the citizens in order to preserve their safety. The engineering members also began examining and detecting the object, which turned out to be an anti-armor mine. It was removed without causing any damage, and then it was transferred to a designated place away from populated areas.

The Internal Security Forces called on the people to continue joint cooperation with their forces and to report any suspicious case or object to the nearest security point.
