The General Command of Internal Security Forces – North and East Syria Region issued a statement today to the public regarding the destruction of the Kurdish National Council office. The statement read:

"After conducting a field security assessment and technical analysis of the Kurdistan National Council (ENKS) office fire, we would like to explain the following to our people and the public:

On the day of the accident, our expert security personnel made a thorough study of the office location. It was discovered that it was nearly impossible to enter from outside because it overlooked the main street and was enclosed on three sides by the adjacent houses. This absolutely eliminates the scope for somebody entering with the intention of vandalism or arson.

Investigations revealed that the blaze happened in one of the rooms due to a short circuit of electricity in one of the sockets, and its spread did not exceed the room.

All windows and doors remained shut tightly up to the employee at 7:45 AM. Upon opening the fire, The introduction of oxygen into the door caused increased ignition.

Neither the witnesses nor the observation cameras registered any abnormal activity, nor was there any indication of outside interference or use of fire materials.

According to technical information and on-site evidence, our forces verify the fire was caused by an internal electrical failure, and there is no evidence to suggest it was intentional or deliberately set.

We, the General Command of the Internal Security Forces of North and East Syria, announce that preliminary security and technical investigations have been conducted in full and corroborated these results. Our forces continue to follow closely, monitor, and investigate to verify all related information and ensure complete transparency for this incident.
