Internal Security Forces in Kobani affirm their continued commitment to ensur security and stability in the city

The Internal Security Forces of the Autonomous Administration in Kobani issued a statement to the public today regarding the developments that have taken place in the city of Kobani in recent weeks.

The statement read: “In recent weeks, the city of Kobani has witnessed a number of incidents that have negatively impacted security, such as indiscriminate gunfire, breaking into humanitarian aid warehouses and stealing some of their contents, assaulting aid distribution personnel, and the carrying of weapons by individuals not affiliated with our security and military forces. These actions have undermined the security and stability the city has enjoyed amidst the difficult circumstances the region is experiencing.

We, the Internal Security Forces in Kobani, affirm that we have continued our efforts since the beginning of these events to ensure security and stability in Kobani and its surrounding areas, and to combat any practices that harm security. We also call upon all residents of the city to cooperate with the Internal Security Forces and to refrain from any illegal activities, as anyone who violates the regulations will be held legally accountable.

We emphasize that anyone who fires weapons indiscriminately, attacks humanitarian aid warehouses or their staff, or carries a weapon without official authorization will be subject to legal accountability and penalties.

Maintaining the stability and security of our regions is a shared responsibility among all citizens; therefore, cooperation with the internal security forces is essential to preserving the stability and security of our regions.”
