The Free Media Union issued a statement today congratulating the staff of ANHA agency on the thirteenth anniversary of its launch on March 1, 2013, describing this occasion as a significant milestone in the journey of free media in the region.

The statement noted that since its inception, the agency has emerged as a voice for truth and a free platform in the face of disinformation campaigns and the suppression of facts. It emphasized the agency's remarkable professional presence in covering events in Rojava, North and East Syria, and Syria in general, by reporting from primary sources and defending the values ​​of freedom, justice, and the rights of peoples.

The Free Media Union affirmed that the agency's experience reflects a commitment to making media a moral mission and a social responsibility before it is merely a news report.

The Union also paid tribute to the martyrs of free speech from among its staff: Delishan Ibish, Rizgar Deniz, Hawkar Mohammed, Saad Ahmed, Issam Abdullah, and Jihan Belkin, who lost their lives while performing their professional duty.

The statement reiterated full solidarity with the mission of the free and independent media agency, and stressed support for every effort that contributes to establish media that reflects the diversity of society and preserves human dignity.
