In the presence of the co-presidency of the Executive Council of the North and East Syria Region, the General Command of the Syrian Democratic Forces, the co-presidency of the Interior Body of the North and East Syria Region, the co-chairs of the Interior Body in the Cantons, a delegation from the Martyrs’ Families Foundation, the Democratic Society Movement, Kongra Star and a number of officers and non-commissioned officers, The General Command of the Internal Security Forces held the fourth conference on May 10 in the city of Hasaka.

The conference began with a minute of silence, followed by the opening speech of the conference delivered by the Commander-in-Chief of the Syrian Democratic Forces, Mazloum Abdi, in which he congratulated the holding of the fourth conference, and emphasized the achievements made by the Internal Security Forces during the past two years, in combating terrorism, especially in light of the continuing crimes of the Turkish occupation on the region, he noted the sensitivity of the conditions which requires continuing to develop work to enhance security and stability in NE Syria.

In turn, the co-chair of the Executive Council, Hussein Othman, blessed the holding of the fourth conference of the Internal Security Forces and touched on the role of the Internal Security Forces in combating all types of crimes. He praised the achievements they have achieved during the past two years, and stressed the need to overcome the difficulties.

Member of the Martyrs’ Families Council, Jawaher Othman, said: “Our existence today is thanks to the martyrs who made sacrifices and gave their lives to achieve freedom and dignity and achieve justice and equality,” and she stressed completing the path of the martyrs and following in their footsteps.

Kongra Star spokeswoman Ramziya Muhammad also spoke and explained the great role of women in the Internal Security Forces, and the achievements they have achieved in all departments. She praised the pioneering role played by the Internal Security Forces - Women.

The conference activities continued by reading the report on the work of the Internal Security Forces, over two years, and reviewing the achievements they achieved within all administrative and security departments, indicating the obstacles and difficulties. The report also explained the mistakes that occurred and the necessity of overcoming them to achieve the greatest amount of work to enhance security and stability.

 The report highlighted the work program for the coming year, which depends mainly on achieving an increase in the efficiency of members through various intellectual, legal and specialized training courses, an increase in the number of members of the Operations Forces and Special Forces (HAT) and increased support for the Narcotics and Crime Control Department and the Public Security Service.

The conference was also completed by reading the draft of the new internal security forces’ internal system, which works to restructure some sections and their names, merge some of them, and create new sections, in addition to the rights and duties of members of the forces.

All new internal regulations were approved by a majority of attendees, including administrators, officers, and non-officers within the ranks of the forces.

The conference concluded with a speech by Fawza Youssef, member of the presidential body of the Democratic Union Party, in which she praised the sacrifices and work of the Internal Security Forces in performing their duties to achieve security and stability in the region.
