Internal Security Forces – Aleppo refute allegation of Transitional Government Media

The Media Center of the Internal Security Forces in the city of Aleppo issued a statement today denying what was circulated in some media outlets affiliated with the transitional government. The statement said: “We, the Internal Security Forces in Aleppo, categorically deny what has been circulated in some government media regarding the targeting of the person known as ‘Abu Bakr al-Dairi,’ and we confirm that these claims are baseless."

We stress our full commitment to the ceasefire and the agreements concluded with all concerned parties, and we affirm that we continue to work in line with the interests of security and stability in the region, in accordance with what has been agreed upon.

We also affirm that our forces in Aleppo continue their efforts to ensure security and public safety, protect civilians, respect human rights, and maintain public order. We express our firm belief in the importance of adhering to all principles that guarantee regional stability and uphold the rule of law.

We call on all media outlets to exercise caution and accuracy in reporting news and information, and to refrain from promoting unverified news that could negatively affect the general situation.”
