Interim Govt. prevents Jalabiya residents from issuing statement, obstructs journalists' coverage

Forces affiliated with the Interim Government are preventing residents of the town of Jalabiya from issuing a public statement regarding the developments being witnessed in the town following the appointment of a new mayor, a move residents consider a disregard for their will. In addition, these forces are preventing media outlets from following the statement and covering the events.

Residents of the town of Jalabiya are attempting to issue a statement to the public opinion regarding the ongoing developments in their town, but elements affiliated with the Syrian Interim Government are preventing them from doing so. These elements are also obstructing journalists and preventing them from covering the events.

The Syrian Interim Government appointed a mayor for Jalabiya in the city of Kobani, a move that has been met with widespread rejection by the town's residents. They argue that this decision contradicts agreements signed between the Syrian Democratic Forces and the Autonomous Administration on the one hand, and the Syrian Interim Government on the other hand, which stipulate the right of the region's inhabitants to manage their own affairs and choose their representatives.

Following this, dozens of residents gathered in front of the municipality building to protest against the decision, while the Syrian Interim Government's general security forces obstructed the protesters' movements, fired live ammunition, and prevented media outlets from covering the events.
