Intellectuals in Raqqa call for stopping Turkish attacks to support leader's appeal

In the wake of a historic message read by the Peoples' Democratic Party in Turkey, which was sent by leader Abdullah Ocalan from Imrali prison, calling for the end of armed conflict and the opening of a new chapter of dialogue and understanding, calls continue for the Turkish occupation to respond, cease attacks, and support the appeal.

The co-chair of the Culture and Antiquities Authority in the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria in Raqqa, Hassan Mustafa, told ANHA's agency: "The Middle East region is witnessing long-standing conflicts and ongoing regional tensions, and it is time to alleviate these disputes. We support the initiative of leader Abdullah Ocalan and emphasize the importance of dialogue and negotiation to resolve the Kurdish issue."

Mustafa added that "the continuation of Turkish attacks undermines the chances of peace and stability in the region and hinders any efforts to resolve the Kurdish issue through peaceful means. Stopping these attacks is a fundamental step to create a conducive environment for dialogue and negotiation."

The historic call of leader Abdullah Ocalan comes at a time when the region is witnessing increasing tensions, as the Turkish occupation continues its military attacks on the region of North and East Syria.

For his part, the intellectual and politician Shawakh al-Ahmad issued a call to the international and local public opinion, urging pressure on the Turkish authorities to stop their attacks and adhere to the path of peaceful resolution.

Al-Ahmad said: "We hope that the Turkish state will respond to the calls for peace and take serious steps towards resolving the Kurdish issue through peaceful means. Achieving peace and stability in the region serves the interests of all parties."

He indicated that political solutions and dialogue are the best way to address differences and end conflicts.
