Indicating Turkish authorities' goals of torture, genocide regime against Ocalan

The residents of Ashrafieh neighborhood point to the goal of the torture and genocide system practiced by the Turkish authorities against Leader Abdullah Ocalan, as well as the goal of the international powers and their organizations in their silence, stressing that this silence stems from the fear of achieving more achievements for the communities in the face of the authorities, in the event of communication between them and the community.

The requests of the lawyers of Leader Abdullah Ocalan and his family are met with no response, despite being submitted 16 times every month, and the continued absence of action by international human rights organizations, primarily the Council of Europe, the European Court of Human Rights, and the European Committee for the Prevention of Torture (CPT), despite the continuous popular demands to achieve his physical freedom.

Communication with Leader Abdullah Ocalan has been completely cut off for 42 months, which has raised the confusion of those who believe in his ideology about his health and condition, and has increased the intensity of the demand for his physical freedom. The residents of the Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood in Aleppo believe that this cessation reflects the fear of the Turkish authorities and their participants in the conspiracy of any progress that the peoples may make in confronting the dominant authorities

Hanif Jaafar Ibrahim, a resident of the Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood in Aleppo, Syria, is aware of the Turkish authorities’ efforts to impose a system of torture and genocide against Leader Abdullah Ocalan. He said: “The philosophy of Leader Abdullah Ocalan and his democratic thought do not appeal to the prevailing global ruling systems, so they planned to arrest him, and what is being practiced against him today is a continuation of the process of suppressing his thought.”

He added, comparing what Turkey is doing to the laws related to human rights, “It violates the laws related to political prisoners, and the disciplinary sanctions imposed on him for 42 months are only to put him in a difficult psychological state and to eradicate his thought.”

Citizen Khalil Mohammed from the same neighborhood agreed with him, who also considered it an attempt to limit the spread of Leader Abdullah Ocalan’s ideas and block the way for any change. “They want to cut off the leader’s thought from a people who believe in him, because they are aware that any communication between the leader and the people will result in new achievements and successes.”

As for Leyla Suleiman from the Arab component, she highlighted another point regarding the goal of the torture and genocide regime against Leader Abdullah Ocalan, and said: “The goal is to break the will of the people who adopt his thought and philosophy in their practical lives.”

She pointed out that what drives the Turkish authorities to continue this is the negative role played by human rights organizations regarding Leader Abdullah Ocalan and his demands. She said: "The silence of countries, human rights organizations and concerned parties, and their indifference to our demands to achieve his physical freedom, reveals the indifference and double standards of these organizations, and the extent of their negative role."

Certain that the organizations will not deviate from the context of mutual interests between them and the authorities, and will not care about our demands, Leila stressed the continuation of all means that lead to achieving Leader Abdullah Ocalan's physical freedom. She said: "We as a people will not stand idly by or remain silent. We will work to achieve the leader's physical freedom, whether through ongoing human rights or popular campaigns, and we will never rest, and let them know that."

Leader Abdullah Ocalan has been detained for more than 24 years in Imrali Island Prison in the Sea of Marmara, following an international conspiracy carried out by international and regional powers in 1999 in the Kenyan capital, Nairobi, and was handed over to the Turkish occupation state on February 15 of the same year.

The last meeting with him was held by his lawyers, Rezan Sarica and Newroz Uysal, on August 7, 2019, while his last contact with the outside world was on March 25, 2021, during a 5-minute phone call with his brother, Mehmet Ocalan, before the call was cut off.
