The Imrali delegation of the Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party (DEM), consisting of MP Pervin Buldan, Mithat Sancar, and lawyer Faik Ozgur Erol, issued a statement today regarding its meetings with the Justice and Development Party (AK Party) and Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) leader Devlet Bahceli.

The statement said the delegation met with an AK Party delegation on July 15, followed by a meeting with Devlet Bahceli on July 16, as part of efforts to advance the "Peace and Democratic Society" process.

According to the statement, the meetings focused on assessing the current stage of the process and exchanging views on its developments. The delegation stressed the need for a framework law to come into force as soon as possible and called for consultations to ensure that the legislation reflects society's expectations.

The delegation also confirmed that it will continue consultations with various stakeholders in the coming period. It added that it plans to visit Imrali Island soon to meet with Abdullah Ocalan as part of ongoing efforts to advance the peace process.
