Ilham Ahmed discusses integration, future of Kurdish Language with educational staff in Aleppo

Kurdish politician Ilham Ahmed met today with educational staff, including male and female teachers from the Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafiyah neighborhoods of Aleppo, during an expanded meeting that addressed the latest political developments and updates, as well as the state of the educational process and issues related to the integration of educational institutions and the Kurdish language.

The meeting discussed ways and mechanisms for integrating educational institutions and the situation of male and female teachers, in addition to the future of the Kurdish language and ensuring the continuation of education in Kurdish within the new phase Syria is undergoing.

The meeting comes as part of a series of meetings and discussions held by Ilham Ahmed in Aleppo with Presidential Adviser Mazloum Abdi to follow up on political, social, and educational issues and to hear the demands of residents and local educational staff.

On September 18, Ilham Ahmed also met with a number of families of martyrs in the Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood during an expanded meeting that addressed the latest political developments and the current situation, as well as listening to the families’ demands and needs.

These meetings come amid continued discussions over the future of education in the Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafiyah neighborhoods, the rights of students and teachers, and mechanisms for transition and integration into government educational institutions.

In an interview with Hawar News Agency on September 8, Ilham Ahmed also stressed the need to unify and clarify procedures for integrating students and teachers who received their education in Kurdish into government educational institutions. She pointed to challenges related to examinations being conducted in Arabic, the translation and certification of certificates, and the lack of clarity regarding procedures for admitting students and integrating teachers.
