IDPs Afrin await safe return

In a statement, the Syrian Democratic Forces Commander-in-Chief Mazloum Abdi emphasized that internally displaced persons' return in Afrin, Serekaniye, and Tal Abyad/Gire Spi is among the most significant conditions of the March 10 agreement.

IDPs from the occupied Afrin reached out to ANHA agency regarding the conditions of their return in safety. Fawzi Suleiman elucidated that Afrin citizens have been displaced twice and faced numerous challenges on their path. He underscored their resolution and resilience towards a return in safety, saying, "The March 10 agreement needs to be implemented, particularly the article on the return of the displaced, but the transitional government has not made any steps yet."

Suleiman mentioned the ongoing crimes in Afrin and that the mercenaries are demanding huge sums of money from the indigenous people to recover their property but are not providing it.

Fawzi discussed the SDF commander's message to Afrin's displaced citizens and said, "It made the Afrinis very happy."

Displaced person Bilal Bilal told, "We want to return under the shadow of our organization: the Asayish and the SDF. We will not let the blood of the martyrs go in vain. Afrin's soil is in the clutches of the mercenaries now, and we won't return unless this soil is liberated from their grip. We are waiting for our return and are ready for it at all times."

Amina Youssef emphasized that the displaced will not return so long as there are mercenaries in Afrin, explaining, "We have suffered all this to live in dignity, and we will not return under occupation, no matter what. We wait for a dignified return."
