Human rights network documents killing of 222 Kurdish protesters by Iranian regime

The Kurdistan Human Rights Network documented the identities of 222 Kurdish protesters killed by Iranian regime forces during demonstrations in East Kurdistan and across Iran.

The report stated that since the beginning of the protests in East Kurdistan and Iran, 222 Kurdish protesters have been killed by Iranian regime forces in various cities, and their identities have been revealed.

The report also indicated that those who lost their lives were registered in the cities of Kermanshah, Ilam, Tehran, Alborz, Lorestan, Khorasan Razavi, Isfahan, Hormozgan, and Khuzestan.

The Kurdistan Human Rights Network revealed that it has received the identities and information of many other Kurdish citizens killed in the demonstrations, and it is conducting the necessary investigations to confirm them.

The report further stated that Iranian regime forces used military weapons during the demonstrations, firing directly at protesters' heads. Moreover, security forces extorted exorbitant sums of money from families in exchange for the release of their sons' bodies. Families were also pressured to list the cause of death on death certificates as "fall from a height," and to place the blame for their deaths on the protesters.
