HPG: Turkish occupation continues attacks on Medya defense areas

The Media Center of the People’s Defense Forces (HPG-NRÇ) issued a statement today regarding the ongoing Turkish occupation army assaults against guerrilla forces in the Medya defense areas in Southern Kurdistan, covering the period from July 24 to August 7. The statement read:

“- On July 24, our tunnels located in the resistance area in Sinin, in the Khakurk region, were bombed by drones.

- On July 25, 27, 28, and 30, the resistance area in Beriya Zîn in the Khakurk region was shelled 22 times with heavy weapons and artillery.

- Between July 24 and August 3, the resistance area of Bahar Hill in the Martyr Delîl area west of Zap was shelled 32 times with heavy weapons and mortars.

- Between July 27 and August 7, there were intense movements and reconnaissance drones (İHA) and (SİHA) flights over the regions of Zap, Metîna, Khakurk, Gare, and Qandil.

- Between July 24 and August 7, road construction and excavation works for occupation purposes continued in the regions of Zap, Metîna, and Khakurk.

- On July 23, 24, 26, 27, and 28, calls for surrender were issued to our forces in the Martyr Delîl area west of Zap.
