They warned that the current situation threatens the future of Syrian production. The industrialists protested recent administrative decisions that revoked licenses and imposed large dollar-based fees, describing these measures as harmful to national industry and conducive to chaos.

Over the past decade, the city of Qamishlo has witnessed rapid urban expansion. However, this horizontal sprawl poses a direct threat to the city’s infrastructure. The dense concentration of buildings and the absence of open spaces have deprived the city of natural ventilation, leading to the disappearance of green areas and their gradual replacement with suffocating concrete blocks, amid a lack of urban planning and long-term vision.
