Livestock breeding in Homs has seen a significant decline in recent months, which observers attribute to governmental neglect, economic crises, drought, and the deterioration of natural pastures. The livestock sector faces severe challenges threatening its sustainability, most notably rising feed costs, shortage of medicines and vaccines, and the urgent need for support to breeders and stabilization of livestock production in the region.

Amid tents that offer no protection from summer heat or winter cold, women forcibly displaced from the city of Serê Kaniyê  continue to struggle against harsh living conditions. Researchers and activists stated that the Turkish authorities are pursuing a “Turanist policy” aimed at consolidating occupation in the region by extending the missions of its army in Syria and Iraq under old pretexts, noting that Turkey is not serious about implementing the peace agreement with the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK).

The Syrian Interim Government continues to push hundreds of public employees to resign by transferring them to work outside their home provinces, replacing them with contract-based workers. This policy has caused severe humanitarian and social crises.
